Apple Valley Development Roundup: What's Building, What's Approved, and What Just Opened
Apple Valley's got a lot going on right now. We pulled the city's development map and sorted every commercial project by where it stands — being built, approved, proposed, or just finished.
The short version? The city is leaning hard into places to play and eat. Here's the whole rundown.
TLDR
Picklehall — an 18-court indoor pickleball spot with a food hall — is under construction and aiming for a fall opening.
Skyline Social & Games, a big indoor-and-outdoor "eatertainment" spot with a restaurant, opens Friday, July 24 on English Ave.
Moe's Southwest Grill just got approved to open on 150th Street.
A new Los Campeones Gym is proposed for the Business Park area.
Recently opened: a 7 Brew, a new McDonald's, and a Les Schwab tire center.

Under Construction & Opening Now
Picklehall is going up at 7169 153rd St W. It's basically a pickleball palace — 18 indoor courts plus a food-hall-style restaurant. The City Council signed off in August 2025, and it's aiming for a fall opening. We broke the whole thing down in our Picklehall explainer.
Skyline Social & Games opens Friday, July 24, 2026 at 15555 English Ave. It's a 90,000+ sq ft indoor-and-outdoor "eat and play" spot with bowling, axe throwing, an arcade, and outdoor courts, and construction is essentially wrapped up.
Just Approved
Moe's Southwest Grill got the green light to move into an existing space at 7668 150th St W. The city granted the permits it needed so the Tex-Mex spot can open. Approved April 2026
Proposed (In the Pipeline)
Los Campeones Gym wants to open inside an existing building at 5550 Upper 147th St W, in the city's Business Park area. It needs special permission (a conditional use permit) to run a gym there. The Planning Commission and City Council take it up in August 2026.
Recently Completed
7 Brew — the drive-thru coffee chain — is open at 15440 English Ave, near 155th and Pilot Knob. It even got permission to open early, at 5:30 AM. We watched its building get craned into place.
A brand-new McDonald's with a drive-thru opened at 15460 English Ave, on that same 155th and Pilot Knob corner in the Orchard Place area.
Les Schwab built a new 15,897-square-foot tire center at 15690 English Ave.
And the Ace Hardware at 14760 Pennock Ave got the OK for its seasonal outdoor greenhouse — that spring pop-up garden center you've probably walked past.
Didn't Make It
One big one got shot down. A plan for a huge data center campus — five buildings on about 134 acres near CSAH 42 and Pilot Knob — was denied. We wrote up the full story on why it died.
Beyond Businesses
Apple Valley isn't just adding stores. The voter-approved parks referendum is rebuilding Kelley and Redwood Parks, and the schools are adding big new spaces too. We covered the 15 parks getting upgrades this summer if you want that side of it.
The Bottom Line
Most of the new commercial action is clustered along English Avenue and the 155th-and-Pilot-Knob corner in the Orchard Place area — that's the spot to watch.
