Lakeville Development Roundup: Here's Every New Business the City Just Approved
Lakeville's growing fast — and the city keeps a live map of every project it's approved. We went through all 27 approved commercial and industrial projects so you don't have to.
Some are already under construction. Some are just getting their permits. Here's the full A-to-Z rundown of what's coming to town.

Two new 7 Brew drive-thru coffee shops are coming — one at Cedar Ave, one on Heritage Drive.

7 Brew (two locations). The drive-thru coffee chain is coming to Lakeville twice. One small drive-thru shop got approved by the City Council on May 18, 2026 for the new Marketplace at Cedar area (Cedar Ave and 179th). A second spot at 20255 Heritage Dr got a building permit in June to build an 800-square-foot, drive-thru-only location.
Batteries Plus. The battery and light bulb store pulled a building permit in June to remodel an existing space at 16277 Ipava Ave.
Caliber Collision. An auto body shop is moving into an existing light-industrial building at 9583 217th St W. The city signed off on the permit (it's called a conditional use permit — basically special permission for a specific use) and it includes a fenced lot for storing vehicles outside. The Council approved it January 5, 2026, and the interior build-out permit was issued in February.
Chase Bank. A new Chase branch is going in at 20176 Idealic Avenue, on a commercial lot in the Heritage Commons 9th Addition. The Council approved the plat in August 2025 and a building permit was issued in December 2025.
Code Ninjas. This kids' coding and STEM franchise is building out a space at 7650 160th St W. The permit was issued in July.
Dakota Electric Association Energy Center. The big one. Dakota Electric is building a brand-new 215,000-square-foot headquarters at 6919 225th St W — office, warehouse, storage, and maintenance all in one. It already broke ground on June 26, 2025. We dug into this one here.
Farmer's Cellar Event Room. The Farmer's Cellar is adding an event space at 8333 210th St W. A build-out permit was issued in March 2026.
Garage Condos. A 9,000-square-foot garage condominium building is approved for 8436 210th Street. The building permit is under review.
Grow Pediatrics. A 9,205-square-foot pediatric clinic is coming to the Spirit of Brandtjen Farm shopping area at 5378 160th St W, on the pad south of Valvoline. The Council approved it in October 2025 and it broke ground November 18, 2025.
Heritage Commons 11th Addition. A new commercial lot at the corner of 202nd Street and Dodd Boulevard. The city approved the plat in April 2026 and a permit was issued May 19 for a 2,372-square-foot quick-serve restaurant with a drive-thru. Heads up: sign permits went out in June to Chipotle for its second Lakeville location, at 20267 Heritage Dr.
Heritage Commons 12th Addition. Another new commercial lot, south of Heritage Drive and west of Iberia Avenue. The plat was approved in April 2026 and a permit was issued May 22 for a multi-tenant building with a drive-thru — that's the building Panera is moving into.
HOBO Inc. The outdoor gear company got a June permit to remodel the interior at 7925 215th St W.
Juniper Triangle (Globus Transport). An 81,100-square-foot warehouse is approved for an industrial lot south of Juniper Way and east of Kenrick Avenue. Trucking company Globus Transport is expected to move in. The Council approved the final plat July 6, 2026. We covered this one here.
Lakeville Family Pet Clinic. A 9,030-square-foot vet clinic is going up at 7275 175th St W (in the Crossroads East Third Addition). The permit was issued in November 2025 and it broke ground December 16.
Marketplace at Cedar. This is the big new shopping hub — nine commercial lots at the corner of Cedar Avenue and 179th Street, developed by Oppidan. The final plat was approved in October 2025 and construction is expected to start in spring 2026. Several businesses on this list (7 Brew, Taco Bell, Mister Car Wash, Veridian) are landing here. Midwest FlexSpace. A big garage-condo project — 98 garage condominium spaces on about eight acres east of Cedar Avenue and south of 222nd Street W, plus 12 more acres saved for future development. The Council approved it in October 2025 and a permit was issued in January 2026.
Mister Car Wash. A new commercial car wash is approved south of 179th Street and west of Glacier Way. The Council signed off in November 2025.
MN Loon Dispensary. A cannabis business at 8337 210th St W. It got its building and sign permits back in March 2025, has registered with the city, and is waiting on its license from the state's Office of Cannabis Management.
My Gym Children's Fitness Center. A kids' fitness spot for ages 3 months to 10 years — classes, parties, and camps — is coming Fall 2026 to the Lakeville Crossing center at 7676 160th St W. The build-out permit was issued in April 2026.
New Market Bank. The bank at 20151 Icenic Trail got a March 2026 permit to remodel its main floor, add three offices, and make other improvements.
Panera Bread. Panera is moving into the new multi-tenant building at 20193 Heritage Dr (Heritage Commons 12th Addition) — with a drive-thru. The tenant-finish permit was issued in July.
Pizza Ranch FunZone Arcade. Pizza Ranch is expanding its FunZone Arcade at 16995 Kenyon Ave. The remodel permit was issued in May.
Pump & Pantry. The convenience store chain bought the old Hy-Vee Fast & Fresh at 17380 Cedar Ave (Cedar and Glacier Way). It's hiring — there's a hiring event at the store on July 27.
Recycling Zone Plus. Dakota and Scott Counties are building a new drop-off facility at 10125 217th St W for household hazardous waste and recycling. A kickoff was held April 29 and construction has started. We break it down here.
Rugged Roots. A cannabis cultivation business got a July permit for an interior build-out at 21480 Heath Ave.
Taco Bell. A Taco Bell with a drive-thru is coming to the Marketplace at Cedar development (Cedar Ave and 179th). The Council approved it October 20, 2025.
Veridian Credit Union. Veridian is adding a location with a drive-through window in the Marketplace at Cedar area. The Council approved it January 5, 2026.
The Bottom Line
That's a lot of new stuff for one city in one year.
