Sound Garden at Caponi
Step into a concert you can move through at Sound Garden at Caponi Art Park, a free, immersive experience where music, art and nature come alive across a restored oak savanna. Thirty speakers, each playing a different part of a spatially composed symphony, blend with birdsong and wind rustling through the trees so that every step and turn of your head reveals a new mix. Open daily from noon–4 p.m. September 12–26, Sound Garden invites visitors to wander, listen and explore at their own pace. The experience expands throughout the two weeks with site-specific poetry, natural sculpture, dance and live performances. Free Art + Nature workshops offer even more ways to participate. Write poetry in the park with acclaimed teaching artists, create sculptures from leaves, pinecones, flowers and other natural materials, or explore deep listening and make music inspired by the sounds of nature—no previous experience required. Visitors can also enjoy guided poetry tours, roving musical performances and a vibrant closing celebration featuring live music, dance, poetry and sculpture. Sound Garden is free and welcoming to all ages. Workshop space is limited, so advance registration is required. Learn more and register at caponiartpark.org/events/fallsoundgarden2026.
