Xcel Energy Seeks 13% Rate Increase

Xcel Energy has requested approval for a two-year rate increase that would add approximately $165 annually to the average residential electric bill.

Minnesota's Fall Colors Peak from Late September Through Mid-October

Peak colors will begin in northwest Minnesota in late September and sweep southeast through mid-October, with this year's weather patterns—dry spring followed by steady summer rainfall—expected to help leaves hold their vibrant colors longer than in recent years.

The Minneapolis Mayhem takes on the Madison Minotaurs at 1pm at Eagan Community Center, and if you've never experienced rugby live... well, you're in for some serious adrenaline.

Park Your Art - Community Art Showcase | Hastings
Dozens of homes across Hastings become makeshift artist stands this Saturday, with everything from barn quilts to hand-crocheted items displayed right in residents' driveways. See the list of art locations.

Raptor Release at Carpenter Nature Center | Hastings | 11am | Free
Watch rescued hawks, eagles, and other magnificent birds get their second chance at freedom this Saturday from 11-2. It's free, family-friendly, and honestly there's something pretty magical about seeing a healed raptor spread its wings and soar back into the wild where it belongs.

Hope Ministries Fall Kickoff | Farmington | 2pm | Free
Everything from bounce houses to a petting zoo and that classic "guess the giant pumpkin's weight" game. They've got face painting, crafts, and even a touch-a-truck setup because kids (and some adults) never get tired of climbing on fire trucks.

Farmington Greenhouse Oktoberfest | Farmington | Free Admission
