Apple Valley's Parks and Public Projects: Here's Everything Your Tax Dollars Are Building
New businesses aren't the only thing going up in Apple Valley. The city is in the middle of a big round of park, community, and school projects, a lot of it paid for by the parks referendum voters approved.
Here's what's being built and what's coming next.

Kelley Park is getting a splash pad, a new bandshell, and expanded parking.
Redwood Park is getting a new pool, a community building, and an inclusive playground.
The Community Center and Senior Center are getting a connected addition with an indoor play area.
Two schools are expanding: an Eastview High activity center and an Apple Valley High field house.
Under Construction
Kelley Park at 6855 Fortino St is getting a big glow-up from the parks referendum: a new splash pad, a bandshell, a restroom and pavilion building, expanded parking, new park equipment, and stormwater upgrades. The City Council approved it in May 2025, construction started in fall 2025, and the park is on track to reopen in summer 2026. We dug into Kelley Park on its own.
Redwood Park at 311 150th St W is also part of the 2023 referendum. The plan brings a new community building, a new pool (saving the beloved Redwood pool), an inclusive playground, and more. The new Redwood Community Pool is set to open in June 2026, with the rest of the park following around August 2026.
Eastview High School at 6200 140th St W is adding an 84,700-square-foot activity center with gym space, multipurpose rooms, and a walking deck (District 196). Work is underway, with completion expected in winter 2027.
And Apple Valley High School has a new field house under construction (also District 196).
Approved
The Apple Valley Community Center and Senior Center at 14601 Hayes Rd are getting a building addition that connects the two with a shared entrance. It'll add a common lobby, an indoor play area, a coffee lounge, and party rooms. The City Council approved it in February 2026, construction is slated to begin in 2026, and it's expected to open in summer 2027.
When Each One Opens
Rough timing, based on the city and district:
Kelley Park: reopening in summer 2026.
Redwood Park: new pool in June 2026, the rest of the park around August 2026.
Community Center and Senior Center addition: construction starting in 2026, opening summer 2027.
Eastview activity center: completion expected in winter 2027.
